Anushka Sharma to Deepika Padukone, these are the top 10 richest actresses in Bollywood
While the glass ceiling is yet to be shattered, Bollywood’s leading ladies, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, to name a few, are amongst the highest earning actors in the industry, today. Granted, this year’s not exactly turning out in line with our or yours 20/20 vision, but Anushka Sharma’s OTT production ventures: Paatal Lok and Bulbbul, are already amongst the two most-watched and talked about shows of the year. And congratulations are in order to her!
Now as we await to see the actual ROI of these shows on Anushka Sharma’s earnings for the year of 2020, here’s how much moolah, she and nine other Bollywood actresses made in 2019. The figures are courtesy of Forbes’ 2019 edition of the Celebrity 100 list. This list ranks celebrities based on an aggregate of their estimated earnings and fame quotient, via print and social media reach.
1. Alia Bhatt
The highest-earning spot is commanded by Alia Bhatt. She even moved up from her previous year’s rank at #12 to #8 with her total earnings being Rs 59.21 crore in 2019. This amount was contributed to by two of her career’s biggest releases, Gully Boy and Kalank, and a slew of brand endorsements. Bhatt is the face of Lay's, Frooti and Flipkart.
2. Deepika Padukone
Ranking at #10 on the list, Deepika Padukone’s earnings were totalled at Rs 48 crore, courtesy of only brand endorsements for Tanishq, Tetley Green Tea and L'Oreal Paris, according to the magazine. In 2018, however, the actor commanded the #4 spot on the list with a total of Rs 112.8 crore.
3. Priyanka Chopra Jonas
Global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas jumped from the 49th spot to the 14th spot, last year. Her total earnings were estimated at Rs 23.4 crore. She was also named as the richest Indian celebrity on HopperHQ's Instagram Rich List 2019. According to this list, she charged $271,000 (approx. Rs 1.92 crore) for a sponsored post on her Instagram profile, last year.
4. Anushka Sharma
Actor, producer and entrepreneur Anushka Sharma’s 2019 earnings were added up to Rs 28.67 crore. This number was an amalgamation of her income received from her film Zero and several brand associations. She is the brand ambassador for Myntra along with cricketer-husband Virat Kohli. She stood at the 21st spot on the list.
5. Katrina Kaif
Actor and entrepreneur, Katrina Kaif made her third consecutive appearance on the list, last year. This time, however, at #23. Her earnings of Rs 23.63 crore were calculated on the ROI received by Bharat, Zero and endorsement cheques from brands such as Reebok, Tropicana, Lenskart, Metro Shoes and Oppo.
6. Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor landed the 28th spot on the list, a massive jump from 2018’s ranking at #70. Her 2019 earnings were totalled at Rs 8.33 crore, which was courtesy of two back-to-back blockbuster hits: Saaho, Chhichhore and an endorsement contract with The Body Shop.
7. Jacqueline Fernandez
While Jacqueline Fernandez didn’t have any major releases, last year, she appeared in a number of ad projects, which helped rack her earnings up to Rs 9.5 crore and landed her on #32.
8. Kriti Sanon
According to the list, Kriti Sanon’s total earnings of 2019 were a solid Rs 8.09 crore. This fortune was credited to her big 2019 releases: Luka Chuppi, Arjun Patiala, Housefull 4 and numerous brand endorsements. She holds the 38th rank.
9. Parineeti Chopra
At #41, Parineeti Chopra makes her mark with Rs 12.5 crore. This was a massive jump from 2018’s ranking at #83. She appeared in two films last year.
10. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
And at #42, we have Sonam Kapoor Ahuja with total earnings of Rs 8.5 crore. The actor had two releases in 2019: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and The Zoya Factor.
